Last Friday we had hundreds of active people making the coice to either ride, scoot, skate, walk or even jump into school! Our Ride to school day is designed to encourage everyone to get to school in an active way. Leave the car at home and not only will we benefit physically but we will also contributing to having cleaner air and reducing pollution.
We had the Mayor Kim O’Keeffe come and vist the school and help to judge our bike and scooter decorating competition. It was fantastic and we had some amazing creations. We even had one student turn up on a rocket ship!
The kids were greeted with a healthy piece of fruit and a drink as they arrived at school with the music playing it was great and we sincerely hope that many people now feel inspired to ride, scoot, skate or walk to school everyday!
Check out our Safe Route to Primary School map on this page and a video of some highlights from the day.
We love riding to school…It is great way to get around!
