Our data is telling us that spelling is an area for concern across the whole school. It is important that we use this data to drive our teaching and think about how we incorporate spelling into our weekly planners. It is an expectation that spelling is being specifically planned for, for at least 1 hour per week and that spelling concepts and strategies are being explicitly taught during this time. Spelling is a part of the writing block so it is also important to model what effective spellers do during this time. All of the resources used during the workshops as well as the spelling pathway created with Andrea Hillbrick can be found in the spelling folder on Google Drive.
